Thesis Topic: Effect of Socioeconomic Disadvantage on COVID-19 Vaccine Coverage in Massachusetts
Hariharan “Harry” Shanmugam is a senior in the Carroll School of Management studying accounting for finance and consulting and biology, and is in the pre-health program. He is co-president of the Student Health Equity Forum on campus and serves as the chair of the Allocations Committee for the Boston Ryan White HIV Planning Council. Throughout his time at BC, Harry has been involved in public health research, publishing a paper while working at the National Institute of Public Health in Mexico and conducting a study on state pharmaceutical policies at the Boston College School of Social Work. His favorite Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program memory is having dinner with Nicaraguan dissident artists in Costa Rica, and one of the highlights of his BC experience was performing in the Robsham Theater for the South Asian Student Association’s culture show. After graduation, Harry will be working at Boston Consulting Group in their healthcare and social impact practices. Harry is incredibly thankful for his BC and GPSP experience, and for all the wonderful friends and mentors who have supported him these past four years.
